Amazon will reopen its seller registration program for Seller Fulfilled Prime (SFP) in the U.S. on October 1, 2023, an announcement from Amazon US said.
Amazon first launched the Seller Fulfilled Prime (SFP) program in 2015 with the aim of allowing sellers to manage product delivery on their own and provide fast and free delivery for Prime members.
However, as the program expanded, Amazon recognized that SFP was not providing the high-quality experience that Prime customers expected.
As a result, Amazon had put a moratorium on new reseller registrations and provided additional support to existing sellers to ensure that the SFP program was delivering a high-quality Prime experience to customers.
To make new registrations new sellers must pre-qualify to start a 30-day SFP trial. During this time, sellers will need to comply with all SFP program requirements in order to officially become a member of the SFP program.
What is Seller Fulfilled Prime (SFP)?
SFP is Amazon’s Seller Fulfillment Prime program for self-delivering sellers. The program allows sellers to provide free next-day, next-day, and standard delivery services to customers through their own warehouses or third-party overseas warehouses.
The SFP program gives sellers the right to deliver their products on their own, while enjoying a number of FBA-like benefits. This includes access to the Amazon Prime logo, which gives a traffic advantage, improved competitiveness in the shopping cart (Buy Box), and the ability to reach Prime members and participate in important events such as Prime Day.
Pre-qualification requirements to begin Seller Fulfilled Prime
- Must have a domestic U.S. address as the default shipping address.
- Must have an Amazon Pro Seller account.
As well as the following requirements need to be met within the last 90 days:
- Self-deliver at least 100 packages.
- Return rate of less than 2.5%.
- Effective tracking rate of more than 95%.
- Late shipment rate of less than 4%.
The purpose of the SFP trial period is to ensure that sellers are able to provide fast, reliable product delivery services under the high standards required by Prime.
