Total U.S. port imports are expected to reach 13.5 million teUS in the first half of 2022
May 11 – While April results are yet to be finalized, a recent Global Ports tracker from the National Retail Federation (NRF) and Hackett Associates projects 2.27 million TEU for April, up 5.7% from the same period in 2021.
The report also forecast 2.3 million teUs in May, down 1.4% from a year earlier, but still the third-highest level on record. The report expects production in June to reach 2.29 million TEU, up 6.6% compared to the same period in 2021. The report expects imports at U.S. ports to reach near-record levels in the coming months, reaching 13.5 million in the first half of 2022.
