3. Signal word, according to the hazardous level and category of chemicals, the words “danger” and “warning” are used to warn of the degree of harm. Signal word is located below the name of the chemical, requires eye-catching, clear.
4. Hazard statement, a brief summary of the hazardous properties of the chemical. Below the signal word.
5. Precautionary statements, the expression of chemicals in the disposal, handling, storage and use of operations must pay attention to matters and accidents occur when simple and effective rescue measures, etc., the requirements of the content is concise and focused. This part should include safety precautions, accidental conditions (such as leakage, human contact or fire, etc.) of the treatment, safe storage measures and disposal of waste and so on.
6. Supplier identification, supplier name, address, zip code and telephone.

The purpose of GHS labeling

GHS is not a regulation; rather, it is a framework or guide for the classification and labeling of hazardous chemicals.The purpose of GHS classification is to provide chemical users with uniform information to enhance the protection of human health and the environment.

There are three main hazard groups in the GHS system:

1. Physical hazards: explosives, flammable gases, aerosols, oxidizing gases, pressurized gases, flammable liquids, and flammable solids.
2. Health hazards: acute toxicity, skin corrosion/irritation, severe eye damage/eye irritation, respiratory or skin sensitization, germ cell mutagenicity, carcinogenicity, reproductive toxicity, et.
3. Environmental hazards: acute aquatic toxicity, chronic aquatic toxicity.

 

 

The use and function of GHS labeling

1. Classification of hazardous substances and their mixtures, physical hazards, health and environmental hazards.
